ABOUT US

Team Elitus Okinawa (nicknamed "Dynasty") is Okinawa's first multi-national junior basketball club team.

Founded by Jo Kurino, a former 15-year professional basketball player and current professional coach for the Shinshu Brave Warriors in the Japanese B.League (B1), Team Elitus is part of Elitus Academy, a skills training academy founded in Nagoya, Japan and has provided skills training services in Okinawa since 2018 both Japanese and American youth players.

Team Elitus is registered with the Japan Basketball Association (JBA) and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) in the United States. The mission of our organization is to unite basketball players from all countries and play competitively in each tournament circuit. We will play in scrimmages, exhibitions, and competitive tournaments domestically while aiming to play in the United States; the basketball mecca of the world. Our diverse platform provides a great environment for cultural exchange. We will also utilize our experience and resources to help basketball players gain exposure to play at the next level that a player desires. We are he to break to barriers, constantly challenge ourselves to get better in the game of basketball and to improve our environment.

Okinawa is a small island but our dreams don't have to be!

Our ultimate goal is to unify basketball players, coaches, and other stakeholders to showcase the talent that we have on this Island. As the game of basketball grows and globalizes, there are more opportunities to gain exposure and advance to the next level.

We will aim to first be competitive in our region an take on the country. From there we will take our game to the World. And as we become successful, we will share our experience with other players, coaches, and teams throughout Okinawa to give back to the basketball community. It is our hope that everyone that goes through our program will achieve their goals and return the favor for the next generation.

PASSIONATE, PROFESSIONAL COACHING

Lead by Kurino our Director, our organization features a collection of some of the most passionate and professional-minded coaches in Okinawa. We have a diverse collection of coaches ranging from American and Japanese. Male and female. Active duty to civilian. Most of our seasoned coaches are certified USA Basketball or JBA Licensed coaches with a wealth of experience.

Team Elitus Okinawa also prides itself on not only providing traditional basketball coaching but also other progressive methods. Our programs also feature performance training, mental mindset training, yoga, and other methods to help our players become the best version of ourselves. Our coaches are not only coaching but we remain a student of the game. Our jobs are also to evolve so "we" can be the best version of ourselves, too.
